BC exists to make sure every member of our class feels seen, supported, and connected, not just in crisis, but throughout life.

TELL ME MORE

“Bravo Charlie” stands for Buddy Check, something we relied on heavily at the Academy, but have slowly drifted away from over time. Over the years, we’ve lost classmates to depression, addiction, and mental illness, losses that might have been

prevented if our connections had stayed a little tighter. The Bravo Charlie Initiative believes staying in touch truly matters. A quick call, a text, or a simple check-in can mean more than we realize.

BC is a means to make sure we don’t lose touch with the people who shaped us, and that no classmate walks alone. It’s a simple, grassroots effort to help our class stay connected, supported, and informed, no matter how far we’ve scattered or how long it’s been since we last caught up. This isn’t a crisis-response effort. It’s a prevention effort. It’s about strengthening bonds before someone finds themselves in a hard place.

And it’s working! Classmates who haven’t spoken in years are reconnecting, supporting each other, and sharing stories that remind us how our experiences at West Point tie us together.

In just a few months, the BC team has:

  • Personally connected with more than 100 classmates

  • Shared real stories through Voices of ’99 interviews

  • Encouraged buddy checks and accountability

  • Built momentum around community, connection, and vulnerability

Whether you want to reconnect, find an event, ask for support, or quietly stay in touch you belong here. Our goal  is to reach out to 100% of the class at least once a year. We’re also creating a digital home for the Class of ’99: a place to find events, stories, interviews, class news, and opportunities to support each other. No ranks. No spotlight. Just classmates caring about classmates.

Join us. Help us come together as a community. We went through a monumental experience together, and now, we can show up for each other in the ways that matter most
